Hair Regrowth with Cocoa Locks

I’ve never had any problems with my hair before back when I was still in the Philippines.  But I have noticed since moving in Australia 2 years ago, change of weather conditions (especially during the winter season) and harsh UV rays to name a few have caused some irregularity and damage to my hair.  I have been occasionally having hair fall a lot more than usual.  My hairline has also started to thin out which prompted me to put the fringe back on to hide my hairline and also to minimize putting my hair up on a tight, sleek ponytail.

I have always had long hair but due to the damage, I had to cut and trim it short every so often.  Though I do make some efforts to keep my hair at its best, like: avoiding harsh chemicals, hairwashing every 2nd day, applying oils on damp hair, using heat devices only when needed, eating healthy, and so on… I still get frizzy and unruly hair that keeps on shedding like crazy.

I wanted my long hair back and luckily I have come across a product recently by the brand Cocoalocks that aims to provide benefits which include:

  1. Increased collagen production for extra strength
  2. Nourishment for your hair from within
  3. A decrease in hair loss
  4. Increased speed in hair growth
  5. Prevention of hair breakage
  6. Noticeably glossier locks

Sounds promising! Enticing enough, I am yet to try it for myself. AS it is a hot chocolate drink with low calories, I am definitely in for a treat.  Will see how I go and will give you an update in a month’s time, will also take another photo of my hair length after the 1-month program.  I am thrilled to start this program and twice as excited to see results.

Birthday Getaway Part 1: Koala Hospital, Port Macquarie

Hello everyone! After failing to renew my main blog which you can no longer view at this point in time, I have been on hiatus for quite some time, for nearly 2 years to be exact.  I am now back here in my very old blog if you may refer to the previous article which is dated back in 2014.  I have been on hiatus for quite some time, and I have finally gotten out of hibernation and finally doing my very first post.

To give you a very short update, after moving in Sydney last 2016, challenges poured in like a storm. My husband and I were faced with enormous uncontrollable series of events from being new to a place, meeting new set of people, work and other circumstances, we were thankful and grateful that after all the tough part of starting all over again, we have finally settled in, and have overcome most challenges.

Last week my husband and I spent the weekend with two of our friends, also a couple (Philip & Kate), out of Sydney, in a town located at the mouth of Hastings river in New South Wales, Port Macquarie. It was our long-awaited short holiday, which was also perfect as it was Holy Week and my Birthday as well (1st of April). We arrived at Port Macquarie on a Good Friday and our first stop was at the Koala Hospital, which was only a close drive from the place we stayed in.

There’s still a lot to explore in this amazing country. Stay tuned for more photos on exciting places, bargain finds, fashion and beauty loots, food and cafe destinations plus other random musings, this is only the beginning, there’s more to come. 🙂

Classic obsession: Florals

When I started to make this blog and slowly feel the joy of sharing my random spills, one of my all-time favorite source of inspiration and my ultimate fashion staple is, of course, the floral trend.  I can’t exactly pinpoint which part of this trend made me fall in love with it; maybe because of the fact that I also have a thing for retro and vintage pieces, and floral prints just remind me of vintage dresses back form the time of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.

Floral prints can be anything, from dresses, rompers, trousers, shorts, accessories, bags, shoes, name it, it’s everywhere.  A lot of designers nowadays tend to make more modern styles out of this classic trend, and I love it! I just could not get enough of them.  I love how soft, girly, chic and romantic it looks on anyone who wears it.  Your look, however, depends on how you pair it with.  If you opt for a floral printed dress and pair it with wedges or strappy heels, you’ll look femininely chic same as how Jessica of Hapatime wore it.  If you opt for two separates, one with a floral print and one with a natural tone, you’ll look stunningly beautiful same as how Alexandra Pereira of Lovely Pepa flaunted it.4hef

Jessica of Hapatime.  I love her style, everything she wears is just spot-on especially when she wears floral prints, she makes every girl reading her blog want to buy the exact piece too.

One of my favorite Filipina bloggers, Vern Enciso of V ❤ V who’s soon launching hers and sister Verniece Enciso, a style book which I cannot wait and so thrilled about.  I love how she paired her floral romper with sexy caged heels and black studded sling bag.

Verniece Enciso the other half of V ❤ V, sister of Vern Enciso.  Her floral palazzo pants are just gorgeous.

Emily Gemma of the Sweetest Thing.  I love how she paired her floral shorts with a simple top with a lovely lace hem.  She looks stunning.

Alexandra Pereira of Lovely Pepa.  Don’t you find her floral skirt fabulous? I do.. it screams girly boho chic, and I adore how she paired it with the perfect basic pieces which made the whole look not overly matched.

Dolce & Gabbana floral print pumps of Annabelle Fleur of Viva Luxury.  Annabelle is known for her elegant and polished style of dressing, she always looks effortlessly fashionable.  Oh, how I wish I can have this exact pair of D&G pumps shipped without having to worry about over-priced custom duties and taxes when it’s delivered here in the Philippines.  I love everything about this shoes.  It’s floral, yes.  The color? Uh, I’m in love.  How could you not love the look of it?  It’s every shoe-a-holic’s dream shoes.

Mayo Wo of Mellow Mayo.  She’s gorgeous, I love her style and how she comes up with versatile looks that are sure to wow readers.  The color and print combination of both these looks is just superb.

Lastly, Juliett Kuczynska of Maffashion.  She reminds me of Kristina Bazan of Kayture, both gorgeous and with styles resembling one from the other.  I am in awe of this dress she’s wearing.  It looks classy but not tacky.  It has bold tropical prints which still would make her stand out even from a huge crowd.

Since from the country where I am, we are on the last days of summer and I thought it would be nice to share the Top 8 fashion bloggers that I constantly draw out inspiration from, and how they wore my favorite floral trend.

I will also be posting my latest floral haul and streety-style floral looks on my upcoming posts…

I Posed for Leyte and Bohol: Androgyny

One style I rarely get to flaunt is that of the androgynous side. It’s a style loved by many, a style worth the hype, an effortless style which shows a balance between masculine and feminine dressing.  One androgynous look I have in mind that I still haven’t put together is a boyfriend jeans + loose top + heels combo, I love just the thought of how sexy yet manly it would’ve looked like.

But for this particular look, tofu of Tofuisragdollspaorrow did an amazingly crazy awesome job in putting this look together for me… Btw, this was taken November of last year when I organized a Pose for a Cause event for the benefit of the typhoon and earthquake victims in the Visayas.  That said event was a huge success due to efforts of quite a few generous people.

What good it is to have thought of organizing a “Pose for a Cause” event if I myself wouldn’t pose for the camera as well and donate? It was a 2-part, 4-day event and for the 2nd wave of the cause, this was my part; I wanted to try a style which I haven’t yet tried so, tofu came up with this 🙂 If you want to see the outcome of my 1st wave, part of the cause, you can view it here!

But for now, I’ll try my hardest to be on track no matter how busy life gets!  I’m also happy that the sun is finally back and with that, I can take street style outfits again, yay for me! 🙂

Have a lovely week everyone!

Since Prom is a little bit around the corner, here are my top couture picks from the amazing prom dresses designer, Sheri Hill.  She’s got the most prettiest and glamorous prom dresses ever.  If I could draw back the hands of time, I would want to go back to that time when I was in Junior-Senior high and grace the ball with these a-mazing head-turner collection.

Prom here in the Philippines is a little bit on the conservative side.  Pretty much almost all the schools have one common rule: dresses must not be too revealing! nonetheless, prom princesses especially the juniors are quite overly excited even just the thought of this special event.  It happens only twice, that’s why all are eager to dress well for the occasion and try to be their prettiest with hopes of becoming the prom queen or the princess of the night.

As to my own preference when it comes to prom dresses, I want it simple but classy, one that would make you stand out from the crowd.  Dresses, hair and makeup just enhance your natural beauty, one thing that should exude during that special night is how you carry yourself irregardless of how simple or expensive looking your dress will be.

Here are my top picks from Sherri Hill’s array of beautiful and elegant pieces:
11151-s14-10-707x960 1004541_10151689357307205_1006304607_n This one’s probably my favourite.  The back detail says it all.  I have an undying love for lace and daring back details.  For this ensemble, it has the right amount of edge, it may just be on the cocktail side of prom dresses but I love how simple yet classy it looks.  I love it’s intricate bead-work, perfect fit, the fact that it’s white, it looks chic and polished and need I say more?1460126_10151812080987205_358663290_n If you are on the simple with a hint of sultriness kind of style for prom, you might want to check this style out.  It’s sleek, elegant, and sexy in some sorts that’ll surely sweep people off their feet.1470180_10151781743547205_929616791_nIf your dreaming of fairyland and fantasia, you got to have this dress.  It has the perfect pop of color that is lusciously beautiful and crazy pleasing to the eye, the simplest yet chicest white dress I’ve ever seen.  Seriously, I love it.
1505519_10151868745377205_1703548431_n I am in love with white gowns that has elegant back details, i know! haha! What else can I say? the dress says it all.1512388_10151893940442205_2119746065_n Who wouldn’t want to look like a princess during Prom Night? I do, If you do as well, better have this kind of ball gown fit for a princess.  The open-back detail of this dress, the beaded waistline and closed high neckline makes this dress worthy for Prom.1512800_10151915303502205_845340338_n If you opt for a style that screams simplicity but with a touch of glam in it, this one’s so perfect for you.  You might look just like a real-life barbie doll with this dress on just like these two gorgeous models.1512832_10151847238787205_2010497792_n This dress is fit for a queen, a Prom Queen to be exact.  It has the right amount of sassiness and sexiness; this may not be the most over the top ball gown for prom, but this style might just be all you need to win that crown.  If worn with confidence and grace, you sure will win hearts of many.  For me, this got all the right details for a prom dress; the fit, the curves, the details, sheer light-weight peek-a-boo skirt, everything is just spot on.  1515004_10151883650167205_194083568_nTrumpet/Mermaid cut dresses are the sexiest don’t you agree? with too much glitz going on in this dress, you sure wouldn’t need anything else.
1517706_10151867042892205_1819562485_n This is just the right amount of glam.  Those intricate beading especially the low V-cut detail on the back makes this style perfect for a blush night at the Prom.  You sure would melt anyone’s heart with this look.  Simply beautiful.1545099_10151916522042205_1103195157_nI love everything about this style; the sweetheart neckline maybe a little bit too revealing but this will surely make you the celebrity gossip of the night.  Lovely mixture of pastel colours and perfect if you want to flaunt those sexy curves of yours.

Aren’t you excited for prom? I bet you really are.  Proms are those times where you wanna feel the prettiest and I kind of miss that feeling; these types of event just comes around a few or so times so make the most out of it and look your greatest.  Remember to exude confidence and always feel beautiful inside and out no matter what.

Sunflower on a Rainy Day

For some reasons, the rain here in North Min just wouldn’t stop.. and I kinda want the sun back 🙂 Here’s another late post we did on the mid part of December.. I already forgot about this and since it was so hot and sunny that day we had this shoot, I’d like to post this now as a shout out for Mr. Sun to shine again 🙂

_DSC1785_wm_DSC1760_wm Anyways, I am loving this retro-vintage sunflower jumpsuit i got from Shorts station.  I love jumpsuits and this one’s quite special.  It has padded shoulders (so old school) and i love how the length is just perfect for my height.. it’s super comfy and loose that i can sleep on it… no! 😉 When it comes to jumpsuits like this, I love to pair it with flats/sandals.. if it’s a bit longer, i’d opt for a strappy heels instead because i personally don’t want my heels showing up and the suit just hanging loose.

_DSC1762_wm _DSC1768_wm _DSC1773_wm _DSC1777_wm _DSC1778_wm This was shot on location at a local restaurant called Bourbon St. Bistro along J.R. Borja extension.  Food here was great too.  Hubby and I enjoyed their pasta (forgot the name), it was deli-sh… ‘will sure be coming back for more..

Please excuse my face if I look so pale and distraught (I really wasn’t), twas because the sun was at its highest glory when we shot our first set (you can view it here), so the hot and humid air squeezed my makeup out.. whoo0psiedaisy! 😉

Also, since it’s raining like crazy everyday and the weather is but cold, make sure to stay dry, warm and safe.. fight the fugly weather 😉
